The first duo work by two of the most talented and creative players, Vijay Iyer and Craig Taborn, Roscoe Mitchell's Note Factory also combined their artistic approaches inside the ensemble for Mitchell's 2007 work, Far Side. Iyer and Taborn have been performing together ever since, and this is a live recording made at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest in March 2018. The invention they create together is stunning, but also includes tributes to formative influences including Cecil Taylor, Muhal Richard Abrams, Geri Allen, and the painter and sculptor Jack Whitten.
