Born in Switzerland and later moved to Brazil. He taught at the Federal University of Bahia, where he taught Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and others in Ouachita. The two extremely rare recordings by Valter Smetaki, a musician and instrument maker who had a great influence on the Tropicália and other psychedelic movements as well as Brazilian experimental music, will be reissued at the same time. This work was made in 1973 and was released with the cooperation of Caetano and Gil. A long, quiet daydream in which electronic sounds, humming, and water sounds are intertwined with a number of creative instruments, including a unique string instrument made from a gourd. The gatefold jacket, which includes a catalog of the instruments along with photographs, is reproduced as on the original, along with a booklet with newly added photographs and the latest remastering. The B-side, "Poppies" by Lennie Bleecher and Jeremy Wind, and George Harrison's "Isn't It a Pity? was recorded at RCA Studios in New York City.
