This Gibson SG, circa 1962, is from Bob Willcutt’s personal collection and was heavily modified some time in the early 70’s. The whole guitar was refinished and unfortunately the serial number cannot be made out, so exact dating is difficult. The pearl inlaid rose and Gibson script logo on the headstock was hand cut and inlaid by Anne Sheen. The entire electrical harness has been stripped out and replaced. It currently has Tom Anderson designed Schecter Z-plus pickups hooked up to vintage sealed Bourns pots and has Bill Lawrence Q-Filters added to each pickup. There are also 2 DPDT switches; one to coil-split both pickups and another to reverse the phase of one of the pickups. The standard nut has been replaced with a brass nut and the normal Gibson wraparound bridge has been replaced with a Badass wraparound bridge. The original tuning keys have been replaced with vintage 70’s USA Bullseye Rotomatic Grover Tuners. The guitar is still paired with the original black pebble yellow lined case from the 60’s, and because this guitar was kept in Mr. Willcutt’s personal museum for 50 years, it is free of any major dings or blemishes to the finish. This guitar was made with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard common from the era and therefore cannot be shipped outside of the U.S. The guitar is in overall Excellent condition.
