  Magnesium Oxide 4000 mgs & Calcium Citrate 2000 mgs: These two elements should be administered at the same time. Magnesium governs the bio-availability and bioactivity of calcium. Deficiencies are likely on all un-supplemented diets for horses that exercise heavily. Magnesium helps absorb calcium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium. It is necessary for the B vitamins, especially thiamine, to be utilized. A deficiency interferes with the transmission of nerve and muscle impulses causing nervousness.   Directions for use:
  Hard working horses: 1/2 scoop (33 g), daily.
  Peak performance horses: 1/2 scoop 1 – 2 hours prior to exercise, and 1/2 scoop after exercise, when horse is cool
