Edges gilded on three sides to enhance elegance of the book. Endpapers: Satin moiré. Satin ribbon page marker bound in. Two different states/edition were published by Easton Press in 1976. This is the preferred edition: Extra/extensive gilt lettering applied to binding and a full color frontispiece of Sir Walter Scott (less desirable edition has black and white frontispiece). "The Talisman" offers a rich tapestry of adventure, romance, and historical detail. The story follows the Scottish knight Sir Kenneth, who finds himself embroiled in the political and military intrigues surrounding the Crusaders' camp. Along the way, there are encounters with prominent historical figures, including Richard the Lionheart and Saladin, adding layers of historical depth to the narrative. It’s a tale of chivalry, conflict, and the clash of cultures, wrapped up in Scott’s trademark blend of historical fiction and romantic adventure.
