Rare new Sauvignon Blanc from Immortal Estate. Limited. "
94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "A bright silver/yellow hue, the Immortal Estate 2023 Sauvignon Blanc includes 20% Semillon, barrel fermented, with a small amount in new Stockinger barrels. It’s ripe and layered in the glass, with an elegant tropical perfume of salted grapefruit, lime oils, mango, and delicate spices. On the palate, it’s focused and compact, with persistent energetic acidity, good length, and a chalky textured finish. It’s a nicely styled Bordeaux Blanc-inspired wine to drink over the next 8-10 years."
The wet stones of Semillon provide the foundation for the Immortal Estate 2023 Sauvignon Blanc's aromatic layers of lime leaf, lemongrass, and passion fruit. Refreshing, mouthwatering acidity, and a persistent, silky texture. Sauvignon Blanc (65%), Sauvignon Musque (11%), Semillon (24%). Delicious!
Hand harvested and meticulously sorted, the combined fruit was delivered whole cluster directly to the press and gently squeezed, the juice chilled briefly in tank under a blanket of inert gas, then directed to a selection of oak barriques and puncheon for a long cool fermentation. The barrels were stirred daily for the last week of their month-long fermentation and stirred again three more times during elevage to contribute texture and mouthfeel. Malolactic fermentation was inhibited in order to retain the wine’s natural acidity
...Immortal Estate is a project of Tim Martin of Tusk in Napa, Randy Nichols, and winemaker Timothy Milos. Tim was drawn to the diversity of Sonoma and wanted to make a truly luxury wine on the other side of the mountain. Immortal is located just on the other side of Spring Mountain and is a terraced vineyard site on 55-degree slopes. The estate was officially rebranded in 2014.
