The Simpson Strong-Tie DTT2SS Deck Tension Tie is designed to provide a critical lateral load connection between your deck and the supporting structure. Each DTT2SS includes (8) 1/4" x 1-1/2" Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws for secure attachment to deck joists or framing members. When properly installed with a 1/2" diameter threaded rod or anchor bolt into the supporting structure, the DTT2SS helps meet IRC code requirements for deck lateral load connections.

Installation

The DTT2SS installs directly to the deck joist or framing member using the included 1/4" x 1-1/2" Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws. A 1/2" diameter threaded rod or anchor bolt is then used to secure the tension tie into the supporting structure, such as a house band joist or concrete wall.
