Description:

This is the sixth original album by Sly & the Family Stone, released after a two-year silence since their 1971 masterpiece "Riot". The band was in a bad shape in every sense of the word, with Sly Stone's health deteriorating and Larry Graham leaving the band, but they reset and started over with younger members such as Andy Newmark (ds) and Rusty Allen (b). This 1973 album is a complete departure from "Riot" and presents the sounds in Sly's head as soul music with the supple physicality of the new band.
