The SPAX 8×180mm A2 Stainless Washer Head screw is a German-made timber construction screw built for pulling down battens, bearers and fence rails with a broad clamping face. The partial-thread design lets the screw draw two timbers tightly together as the unthreaded shank pulls the join closed. SPAX's 4CUT self-drilling point and ground thread serrations cut cleanly into timber and reduce splitting, even near board edges, while the SPAX T-STAR plus T-40 drive resists cam-out and gives full torque transfer. The broad washer head spreads load and gives higher pull-through resistance, allowing wider screw spacing. Made from A2 304 stainless steel, it stands up to outdoor moisture and weathering for long-life exterior fixing. We recommend pre-drilling in dense hardwoods.
