Up for sale is a fantastic piece of vintage mid-century corporate advertising: an original Zippo Rule 6-foot pocket tape measure. Produced by Zippo as a premier corporate gift line starting in the 1960s, this piece features the same high-quality brushed chrome finish and steel construction as their famous lighters.
Item Details:
- The Logo: Features a clean, multi-color emblem for H.A. Jones Company, Incorporated based out of Dayton, Ohio, complete with the vintage 513 area code phone number.
- The Case: Classic brushed steel pocket rule design with a smooth mechanical retraction.
- Packaging Included: Comes with the original gold-and-black Zippo Rule outer sleeve box and the molded gold-tone inner presentation tray.
Condition Report:
- Tape Measure: Excellent vintage condition. The brushed chrome body has minimal surface wear and the printed company logo is exceptionally crisp and bright. The tape pulls out smoothly and retracts firmly.
- Original Box: Good vintage condition. The interior gold presentation insert is very clean. The outer gold slide sleeve remains structurally sound but displays moderate surface rubbing, edge whitening, and scuffs from decades of storage.
