Description:
Jazz pianist Toshiyuki Sekine (Piano/Rhodes) has finally completed his seventh full-length album, his first piano trio album in 12 years. The result is an energetic and enjoyable album of standards with a "nostalgic yet new" approach. The trio, which includes Hiroshi Yoshino (bass) and Takayuki Koizumi (drums) as recording members, recorded a total of 10 songs, including seven standard numbers, a Burt Bacharach classic (T8), and two original numbers (T6 and T10). Toshiyuki Sekine dedicates these 10 gems to the people who have changed his life in his career as a pianist. The recordings were made at NK Sound Tokyo, a recording studio with Fazioli, which has more power than any of the three major pianos. Niraj Kajanchi was invited as recording engineer and mix-mastering engineer, and the result is a contemporary and bright sound. This album is recommended for a wide range of music fans, not only for jazz fans but also for beginners to jazz.<--I dedicate these 10 songs as a way of expressing my gratitude to the people I have met and influenced at several crossroads in my musical life. The original song "Waseda Street Theme", which is included at the end of the album, was originally recorded and performed as an original instrumental number. In line with the concept of "Dedication," I wrote the lyrics and dedicated the song to my own life's journey and footsteps. I hope this album will be an album that will gently accompany the lives of those who listen to it.
