Named after the 1964 cinematic masterpiece, our Onibaba Earweights blend traditional craftsmanship with a macabre aesthetic, turning folkore and the spectral beauty of Noh-theater into wearable art. While the grotesque features of the Onimask invoke fear, it doesn´t just symbolize malevolence but also strength, good fortune and a protection from evil spirits. The haunting imagery of this yokai has in modern times become a an iconic symbol in various artistic expressions, including theater, literature and visual arts, to which we wanted to pay tribute with those lightweight earweights.
