She has performed at various clubs in Tokyo, including All Of Me Club, Akasaka B♭, and Keystone Club Tokyo, and has sung mainly standards from swing to ballads. Yoko, with Love" is her long-awaited first CD. Miki Yamaoka, her teacher, produced four songs on this CD, and she sings four standard tunes with some of Japan's leading jazz musicians. From "Waltz for Debby," the title tune of Bill Evans' popular album, to "Shiny Stockings" from the Count Basie repertoire, to the famous standard "Over the Rainbow," to Dizzy Gillespie's classic "A Night in Tunisia. and Dizzy Gillespie's classic "A Night in Tunisia. In addition, Toshi Nakada, who has an extensive international network of friends, has recruited top L.A. musicians to produce two songs on the album.The song "Give Me the Simple Life," sung by Bing Crosby in the 40's and later sung by Tony Bennett, Carmen McRae, Rosemary Clooney and many other jazz singers, and "Kisses," composed by Ivan Lins and written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman, which appeared on Sergio Mendes' 1984 album "Confetti" ("Olympia"), are also included.
