Unbelievable new band, The Smile's first album is now available! The Smile, an unbelievable new band formed by Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemet, finally releases their debut album "A Light For Attracting Attention"! The band, whose name is taken from a poem by British poet Ted Hughes, was revealed as a surprise guest at Glastonbury in May 2021, and since then, the band has garnered a great deal of attention, including an onslaught of singles and the simultaneous worldwide distribution of three sold-out shows of 24 hours in a row. The three members are now ready to unleash their new album on the world.The aggressive post-punk "You Will Never Work In Television Again" surprised listeners, the sweet Afro tune "The Smoke", and "Free In The Knowledge", which Thom Yorke performed in public for the first time after the pandemic, were all released on the album. In addition to the preceding tracks, "Skrting On The Surface" and "Open The Floodgates," which were performed live by Radiohead and Atoms For Peace but have never been officially released, are finally available on the album! The album was produced and mixed by our friend Nigel Godrich and mastered by master Bob Ladwig. The album features strings by the London Contemporary Orchestra and a full brass section of contemporary UK jazz players including Byron Warren, Theon & Nathaniel Cross, Chelsea Carmichael, Robert Stillman, and Jason Yard. The album features 13 tracks.
