The Meiji Gakuin Bach Academy was founded in 2000, 250 years after the death of J.S. Bach, under the artistic direction of Ryuichi Higuchi, with the motto of "research and practice (performance)". Following the previous recording of Beethoven's "Missa solemnis," the new recording by the Meiji Gakuin Bach Academy under the direction of Ryuichi Higuchi is "J.S. Bach Cantata Masterpieces. Bach's cantatas form the core of Higuchi's Bach research area, as evidenced by his books "Studies of Bach Cantatas" (Ongaku no Tomo Sha), "Landscapes of Bach" (Shogakukan), and "Bach's Life and Cantatas" (Shunju-sha), and he was the only non-German to be appointed to revise the new Bach complete works, and was a member of the Association He is the only non-German to be in charge of revising the new Bach complete works, and is responsible for the final volume of the cantatas, Volume 34. This CD contains three of the seven pieces Higuchi revised, including the famous "God's time is the best time.
