East Side San Jose
Description:
A must-have work for the much talked about Chicano/Low Rider music scene. Tradition and diversity. A Chicano barrio from San Jose, California, dedicated to Eastside San Jose. The best of Chicano Soul, Sunny Osuna, joins on one of the songs! This CD version is only available in Japan. This is a special CD dedicated to the Eastside San Jose, a historic Mexican neighborhood where César Chávez, the leader of the Chicano Civil Rights Movement, lived and worked. Starting with a Chicano-slang intro by popular Berri area radio DJ Chuy Gomez, the album is filled with cumbia, oldies, Latin soul, Latin funk, and traditional Mexican music, including Son Jarocho. The man behind the music is producer/accordionist Ivan Flores and multi-instrumentalist Sian Vallesteros, who will be joined by Sunny, who is also a popular cumbia player in Japan, and the band's founder, Ivan Flores. In addition to Sunny, guests include Mariposas del Alma, a cumbia female chorus group popular in Japan, and Patricia Hidalgo, a very popular performer of the traditional Mexican music Son Jarocho.
