'The narrative of 53 Cross Street was written by Mary Cosh, based on Martin King's written record. The paper on the hall stencil wall painting was written by Martin King in 1996 for an MA in the History of Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal College of Art, with later revisions. The photographs, except where otherwise noted, were all taken by Pauline Lord in 2003.'
