Overview

The Touchstone™ OnyxXL is the big brother of Touchstone's industry leading Onyx wall-mounted electric fireplace. The OnyxXL is a 72" wide electric fireplace  that will immediately become the focal point of your living room, family room, basement or den. The OnyxXL has all the beauty and intensity of a real fireplace, without the mess of wood fireplaces or the smell of gas fireplaces. The OnyxXL will help add heat a space up to 400 square feet with its two heat settings (low and high), and the fireplace can be operated without the heat operating. The OnyxXL is simple to install thanks to Touchstone's intelligently designed mounting bar, which is placed on the wall first so the fireplace can easily be placed in a level position.

They will certainly go well beyond your expectations. The OnyxXL can be used anytime of day, when you want to have the experience of a realistic fireplace. There are five flame settings on the OnyxXL, ranging from a quiet ember, to a full flamed fire, all based on how you to set the mood or lighting in your living space. Choose Your Media Type

The OnyxXL Electric Fireplace now comes with a log set and crystal media, giving the user the opportunity to switch back in forth between both styles depending on their mood and decor. For a traditional feel, install the log set for that traditional fire look. For a contemporary feel, remove the log set and install the crystal media, now included with the OnyxXL, for a contemporary look. 

Yes, it does heat your room

The OnyxXL's two heat settings warm up fast, and create a wonderful warm feeling when experienced with the realistic flame. Use the OnyxXL's heating to warm a room up to 400 square feet, or take the edge off on a cool summer evening. Please note the heater isn't designed to be the primary heat source in your room or home. Its designed to warm up a cool evening, or bring the temperature of a room up a few degrees. The heater can be set from the control panel on the side of the fireplace, or from the easy to use remote. The remote and side panel also feature a built in timer, which will allow you to run your fireplace in a "sleep mode", where it can be shut off anywhere from 30 to 7.5 hours later.

Mounting and Use

Touchstone's electric wall-mounted fireplaces feature a smart mounting system, which will make putting your OnyxXL on the wall a much more easy experience. Included in the box is Touchstone's mounting bar, which is placed on the wall first, so you can find the perfect position and placement, and assure that your fireplace will be level on the wall. Once the mounting bar is set, using three supplied drywall screws and anchors, the OnyxXL is simply placed between the two guides at the end of the mounting bar, and dropped into the mount, using the long horizontal hooks on the back of the fireplace. All the instructions are included, and they are easy to follow. We do recommend placement high enough on the wall to hide the mounting hardware, yet low enough so you can use the heating function far enough away from your ceiling. We normally recommend placement of the OnyxXL at least 24 inches below your ceiling. A popular place that customer mount the OnyxXL fireplace is under a wall mounted, flat screen television. We recommend mounting your TV at least 24 inches above the top of the fireplace unit.
