Latin Name: Rubus ursinus × Rubus idaeus
Description: The boysenberry is a cross between several berries, producing hoards of juicy, deep purple berries that can grow to be over an inch long and an inch around. The fruit has a sweet and tangy flavour, and is delectable when eaten alone or in jams and jellies. The berries grow on trailing vines rather than upright bushes, and their stems are clad with sharp thorns and obtuse leaves that are heavily serrated and arranged in groups of three leaflets. A fantastic choice for growing delicious fresh fruits in your garden.
