Latin Name: Echinacea x hybrida 'Balsomtresgo'
Description: This vibrant cultivar of Coneflower features a profusion of stunning single blooms that emerge a brilliant coral shade, changing to a lovely rose-pink colour over time, eventually turning deep burgundy before fading. The blooms contain many narrow petals, which tend to point backwards, resembling a badminton birdie. In the center of each bloom lies a stiff, protruding cone which is typically purple or brown in colour. This sharp spine-containing cone is actually a seed head, which is quite attractive to birds, butterflies, and bees. The blooms appear on sturdy medium green stems above lance-like, medium green, narrow leaves with finely toothed edges. The blossoms appear in early summer, putting on a very long-lived show all the way until the first frost. An excellent, vibrant choice for sun kissed areas in your garden.
Remove spent flowers/stems to encourage new blooms and growth.
