Manufacturer: Simpson Electric Company, which acquired the original manufacturer, Jewell Electrical Instrument Company, in the early 1930s.

Purpose: The meter is specifically branded "Shield-Arc", a trademark of the Lincoln Electric Company for their arc welding equipment. This gauge would have been installed on the control panel of a vintage arc welder.

Measurements: It measures both Volts (on the upper scale, 0-50 V with a "50 M.V." indicator) and Amperes (on the lower scale, 0-400 A).

Operation: A button labeled "PRESS BUTTON FOR AMPERES" allows the operator to switch between the voltage and amperage readings using the single needle.
