Description:
Master musician Marc Destrube leads the way! Boccherini's symphonies! The 18th century orchestra is now united by its concertmaster, Marc Destrube, in this latest work! The 18th Century Orchestra's viola player Emilio Moreno has re-edited and recorded Boccherini's "Six Symphonies" Op.35, first performed in 1782, with passion and knowledge. Traveling throughout Europe in search of wealth, fame, and work, Boccherini was invited to the Spanish court in 1769 and hired as a performer and composer for Prince Don Luis. After Prince Don Luis was defeated in a power struggle, Boccherini's support did not stop, especially in the field of symphonic music, which was still in its infancy in Spain. The court orchestra was a string quintet, but the Six Symphonies, Op. 35, composed seven years after the prince's exile, were written to be played by a maximum of four string players per part. Marc Destrube is a master musician who has toured and performed at festivals around the world as concertmaster of the Anima Eterna, the CBC Broadcasting Orchestra, and the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra, in addition to serving as co-concertmaster of the 18th Century Orchestra. In this recording, he has successfully brought together the members of the 18th Century Orchestra, with whom he has worked together for many years. Tokyo M-Plus
