SNK's 18th arcade soundtrack project! Includes BGM from "Bakumatsu Roman Gekka no Kenji" and "Bakumatsu Roman Act II: Gekka no Kenji - Moon Blooming and Falling Flowers"! The sword battle game "Bakumatsu Roman Gekka no Kenji" has refined the essence of 2D fighting games with "sword quality" that changes the fighting style of the same character depending on whether the player chooses "power" (which emphasizes attack power) or "technique" (which emphasizes the number of moves), "bounce" (which repels the opponent's attacks), "sublime" (which cancels special moves and leads to super-intelligence), and other features. The following year, in 1998, the game was released as 2D fighting game. The second title, "Bakumatsu Roman II: Tsukihana no Kenji - Tsuki ni Saku Hana, Hariyuku Hana" (Bakumatsu Roman II: Moon Blooming, Flowers Falling), released in 1998, featured new elements such as "Aerial Bullet", "Aerial Passive", and "Down Evasion", as well as fierce combos that became a hot topic. The music of the two works set in the final days of the Tokugawa shogunate are included in this collection.
