Marion Brown
Description:
Saxophonist Marion Brown ended her work with impulse! with this serene and colorful 1970s album, released in 1975. In addition to musicians such as drummer Ed Blackwell and bassist Reggie Workman, Stanley Cowell joined her on acoustic piano and Fender Rhodes. Brown composed the blissful coaster "Vista," but the show also features a wonderful selection of songs, including a charming version of Cowell's "Maimoun" and a striking, deeply meditative take on Stevie Wonder's "Visions.
