A must-listen for all Joe Hisaishi, Nujavez, and Tycho lovers! Producer Kennebec, who builds the one and only cinematic sound, releases his latest work! Kennebec is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Portland, Oregon. He has developed his own unique style of cinematic electronic music, drawing on influences such as Joe Hisaishi, Nujabes, and Tycho, and has released his second album "Without Star or Compass" from Night Times Stories, a sister label of Late Night Tales. He began work on this album shortly after his debut album "Departure" was released in early 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, and he says he recorded it based on new motivations in his own life.The album also features Samuel T. Herring, frontman of Future Islands, a synth-pop band that has captivated the world, trumpeter Yazz Ahmed of Sudan Archives, known for his releases on LA's prestigious Stones Throw label, and lo-fi hip-hop producer Kalaido, also known for his participation in Radiohead's productions. The album also features guest appearances by Yazz Ahmed, a trumpeter known for his work with Radiohead, and Kalaido, a lo-fi hip-hop producer. Throughout the album, the band draws inspiration from Japanese video games such as The Legend of Zelda, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy, and each song is rich in cinematic grandeur. A commentary will be included in the CD for domestic distribution.
