Rotifers have been a staple of the aquaculture world for decades. They are small zooplankton (100-200um) that swim through the water column ingesting any appropriate sized particle that is in front of them. They will hold onto any nutrition they find for approximately 4hrs. For this reason they are often “gut loaded” or fed with some nutritious food prior to harvesting or feeding to fish larva or corals. They are a staple in breeding but are also a great Live Feed to add to a coral tank. The corals will grab them as they move through the water.
