The recording is excellent in that it conveys the exuberance of the performance and the intimate atmosphere of the audience, and the tone and texture of each instrument are vivid and vivid. It has become known as a prestigious jazz club after a number of live recordings were released through Steeplechase. One of them is this live performance by cool tenor Stan Getz with his quartet in early 1977. Vol. 1 begins with a powerful live performance of "Morning Star," which lasts nearly 13 minutes, followed by the electric piano version of "Bradley's Bradley," and then a live performance of "The Rhythm of the Night" with the Danish virtuoso Niels-Henning Elsted Pedersen on bass and Billy Hart on drums. The band also performed a Brazilian cover of Milton Nascimento's "Brazilian" and a passionate rendition of Chick Corea's "La Fiesta," a song that was in their repertoire at the time.
