When it was released in 2006, like many other musicians, Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke uploaded the mixtape to unidentifiable online sites and now-defunct social media. The result was a release that broke down the barriers between instrumental hip-hop and electronica and sparked a new movement that didn't belong to either genre, leading to Warp's signing him. Since then, he has become an artist who specializes in abstract hip-hop expression, and "Hudson's Heeters Vol. 1" is where his entire career began. The clipped sampled drums and swirling synthesizers sound like what one would imagine J Dilla would sound like if he were a dubstep producer. This is his first vinyl release, and is a must-have for fans.
