DESCRIPTION

The DIY Weight Basket is a simple, effective ballast solution for 20–25 HP John Deere garden tractors. Measuring 16″ × 9″ × 16″, it bolts directly to your tractor’s frame using existing bolts — no drilling required. Once installed, simply add six 16″ × 16″ × 2″ patio pavers (purchased locally) and secure them with a tie‑down strap to achieve a total ballast weight of 255 lbs.

Proper rear ballast is essential when operating a front‑end loader, ensuring better traction, stability, and balance while preventing front‑heavy handling or tipping. The DIY Weight Basket is compatible with a wide range of John Deere models and is built for year‑round use, from loader work to snow removal.
