The bathroom version of the No.204 Double arrived in 2022, and it makes a lot of sense that it took this long. Getting a lamp with this much industrial character to work properly in a wet room without losing what makes it good is not a small thing. DCW Éditions managed it by swapping the ball joints for sturdier pivots, fitting each shade with a sandblasted glass cover to protect the bulb, and rating the whole thing to IP44. It still looks like a Lampe Gras. It just happens to be fine above a bath.

Two short arms extend from a single wall base, each adjustable independently so the light can follow you rather than sitting fixed at a point that made sense when it was installed. The sandblasted glass softens what comes through it, which suits a bathroom well — less of a directional task light, more of something warm and considered above the mirror or vanity. Available in black or polycarbonate finishes, it sits equally well in a pared-back utilitarian bathroom or something a bit more dressed.

Good bathroom lighting is one of those things that rarely gets the attention it deserves at the design stage, and this lamp is a reasonable argument for changing that. It brings the same design logic as the rest of the Gras collection into a space that has historically had to make do with far less.
