The Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked in full yellow gold is at the very top of the Audemars Piguet food chain, and certainly near the top of the high horology food chain as well. This breathtaking model takes an icon that was first introduced in 1972 (designed by Gerald Genta and very controversial at launch), and capitalizes on its cult following, universal popularity, and instant recognizability. With standard Royal Oak proportions – a 41mm case and integrated bracelet – the 15407BA really makes its statement on the inside. The double balance wheel "Openworked" movement is a feat of watchmaking, improving both the watch's stability and accuracy. With the beauty and intricacy (and visibility) of the components inside, there is no shortage of things to gaze at. The other half of this watch's statement comes from its material – the watch head and bracelet are made from solid yellow gold, giving it just as much presence as it does weight. Powering this watch is Audemars Piguet's in-house Caliber AP 3132 automatic movement with 45 hours of power reserve.
