The impact of COVID-19 varied from person to person, family to family, and community to community. In this book, we look into how different people have been affected by the pandemic and how they have coped with it. Divided into four parts—Frontliners and Patients, Urban-Rural Dimension of the Pandemic, COVID-19 Among Overseas Filipinos, and Gender, Security, and Religion—this publication intends to document the Filipinos’ way of life during the pandemic; examine how the pandemic has interrupted certain processes and practices in various aspects of life; and provide insights into ways by which to navigate the challenges of the so-called “new normal” through the perspective of various social science disciplines.
