I think these old Odd Fellows mesh masks are pretty ingenious--great as objects  but even better worn as the features of the mask merge with the features of the wearer in a pretty eerie manner. While one sees more elaborate examples than this one, featuring mustaches and beards of real hair, I especially love the rather goofy expression on this one...he really looks like quite good humored, and as if he is about to crack a joke!

The strap is missing but otherwise is in very good condition, with some minor rusting around the edges. One could easily stitch through the mesh at the sides to attach a new strap in order to wear or hang it. Face sized - 8" tall; 5 1/2" across the back if measured straight across (not on a curve).
