The 4th Battalion, 60th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, known as the Fighting Aces, was reactivated on March 4, 2020, with a ceremony that uncased the colors nearly 50 years after the unit last saw action during the Vietnam War in 1972. This reactivation marked a significant milestone in the unit's history, as it transitioned from the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command to the 1st Armored Division. The battalion's transition was part of the Army's modernization efforts to meet the demands of the changing operational environment and the doctrinal transition to large-scale, multi-domain operations. The reactivation of the 4-60th ADAR in March 2022 followed by the reactivation of its Delta Battery in June of the current year, signifying the smooth transition of the 4-60th ADAR from the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command to the 1st Armored Division
