After installing the new brake pads, it's important to bed them in to extend their lifespan. To bed in the pads, gently pull the brake lever while riding, ensuring the pads make contact with the brake rotor. Ride for about 100 meters at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour (15 mph), then brake harder at the end to reduce your speed to about 5 kilometers per hour (3 mph). Then slowly increase your speed while braking lightly. Repeat this process 10 to 12 times to ensure your new brake pads are properly bedded in.
