Carry forward the timeless beauty of the Nativity with Paul the Shepherd, a figure that reflects humility, devotion, and steadfast faith. Standing with staff in hand, a satchel over his shoulder, and two gentle lambs resting at his feet, Paul represents the simple yet profound offering of the shepherds on the night of Christ’s birth.
Part of the beloved Fontanini® 12" Collection, Paul is meticulously sculpted and hand-painted in Italy by skilled artisans. Crafted from durable polymer, this heirloom-quality figure is designed to preserve its rich color, sculpted detail, and meaningful presence for generations. His earth-toned garments and lifelike posture bring authenticity and warmth to any 12-inch scale Nativity village.
The Fontanini Nativity tradition began over 100 years ago in Bagni di Lucca, Italy, in the hills of Tuscany, when Emanuele Fontanini opened his first workshop in 1908. From humble beginnings, the Fontanini family grew into a world-renowned creator of heirloom-quality Nativity sets and figurines. Each piece continues to be molded and hand-painted through a multi-generational, family-guided process.
Today, House of Fontanini proudly carries this tradition forward through direct retail and e-commerce sales. For over 25 years, our locally owned small business has shared these meaningful works of art from our Minnesota warehouse — always remembering our mission:
“Telling His Story, one piece at a time.”
Paul the Shepherd represents the faithful young man who heard the angels’ announcement and journeyed to Bethlehem to see the newborn Savior. His presence adds depth, storytelling, and reverence to your 12" Nativity display.
