8-inch hand-made clay figurine inspired by the famous Darpana Sundari of the Chennakesava temple in Belur, Karnataka, in two colour options.

The raw aesthetic of terracotta lends itself beautifully to mirroring the carved deities that Indian historical architecture is famous for. Use this little sculpture as a small celebration of our rich heritage in the intimacy of your home.

Being hand painted, this product is unique in itself, and its tiny imperfections are what make it special.

Traditional Terracotta Firing Process

Note: Traditional terracotta is not as strong or durable as modern ceramic because it is fired at a much lower temperature. Please place this product so that it is safe from damage.

Traditional kilns are essentially shallow pits filled with charcoal. For firing, products are placed very closely together in the pit and covered with a layer of broken pottery fragments for insulation. The process of firing usually lasts around three hours.

Please note: The actual colors may vary based on the screen resolution of your device. In our experience, viewing the products on the desktop is usually more true to the actual colors.
