The Liberty AV COMET-UPAA-M USB 2.0 Cable, Black extends USB 2.0 signals through a plenum-rated, Active Optical hybrid cable assembly. By incorporating active circuitry within the USB connectors, this technology enables the transmission of USB signals across fixed-length cables ranging from 8 to 40 meters. These cables have the capacity to deliver USB 2.0 power of up to 0.5W over distances of 25 meters. With a data transfer rate of up to 480Mbps, the COMET‐UPAA functions as a USB 2.0 cable.
As a hybrid fiber optic cable, the COMET‐UPAA is impervious to electromagnetic (EM) and radio frequency (RF) interference, safeguarding signal integrity and preventing interference with other sensitive electronic devices. The cable is designed with USB A male to A male connectors, a configuration not standardized by USB, typically used to extend connections from a host to a coupler. Subsequently, a USB A‐B or A‐C cable is utilized on the coupler client side to ensure compatibility with the correct connector.
To maintain proper functionality, the cable is directional, with "Host" and "Device" markings to indicate orientation for USB Host to Client Mode. For optimal performance, it is recommended that the connecting cable on the client side does not exceed 1 meter in length. Prior to installation, it is advisable to conduct bench testing to validate the configuration.
