Note 3: 100 Shilingi (Red/Purple) - 1985 Issue (Rare Variety)
Obverse: Portrait of an older, wiser Nyerere.
Reverse: A significant "error" or controversial design showing a graduation ceremony at the University of Dar es Salaam, alongside a map of Tanzania that famously omitted the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia.
Significance: This specific 1985 issue was quickly replaced in 1986 to correct the map, making this "missing islands" version a must-have for variety collectors.
Condition: Notes are in Circulated to Very Fine (VF) condition, showing original colors and honest wear that tells the story of Tanzania's economic journey.
