This spectacular fully restored and sought-after model #452 'Roll Top' desk was designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar and features beautifully grained Rosewood and Ebonized Mahogany, designed and made in the 1960s. Most examples of this design are regular desk height however this example was custom made to be a receptionist desk which also works great for those seeking a tall desk where you can stand instead of sit for ergonomic purposes.
The Rosewood tambour doors open to reveal two storage compartments, the middle section folds down via three brass hinges allowing this to be used as a partners desk and provides further utility as a reception room desk, and three pull out drawers with a pen / pencil storage area in the center. The lower footrest is imbedded with leather while all four legs are finished with thin brass feet. This example was also customized with rear and side privacy panels, such incredible use of luxury materials and quality craftsmanship as you would expect from Dunbar in the 1960s.
In excellent newly restored condition, this Edward Wormley for Dunbar Rosewood and Mahogany receptionist desk is ready to be used immediately in a work or home office or reception lobby. Consider this desk in a mid-century modern home, or it can work great in other styles such as post-modern, contemporary, traditional, transitional, classical, art deco, country and more. Also consider this in a corporate office, home office, retail boutique or creative studio or agency.
