This Estate Zamberlan is a red wine blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese. Incredibly intense and complex with rich, ripe dark berry fruit and a nutmeg spice. Dark chocolate from the Ripasso process is counterbalanced with a burst of maraschino cherry from the Sangiovese. Drinking well now and developing over next decade.

This wine will pair with anything Italian; pizza and pasta of all sorts, tomato-based sauces, and all of those rustic garden herbs work beautifully. Mushrooms also have a particular affinity with Sangiovese — a creamy mushroom risotto is a match made in heaven.
