Before the Carrera, before the Monaco, there was this. The reference 3645 belongs to Heuer's pre-Carrera era — chronographs produced in the late 1950s and early 1960s that established the maison's reputation for sporting timekeepers before Jack Heuer gave them their defining identity. Clean, purposeful, and entirely unaffected by trends, they represent Heuer at its most honest.
The gold-filled case — a layer of gold mechanically bonded to a steel base, standard practice for quality dress-sport watches of the period — presents in near mint condition, retaining its original surfaces with exceptional integrity. The warm tone of the gold against the two-register white dial creates a composition of quiet elegance: applied gold baton indices, guilloché subdials at 9 and 3, and the period Heuer shield logo that collectors have come to treasure.
The pusher-and-crown configuration visible on the case band is classic pre-Carrera architecture — small round pushers, a case profile that photographs as well today as it would have in 1960.
Near mint condition throughout. A rare Pre-Carrera in a configuration seldom found this well preserved.
