M20 Command Car, Early - Almost 4,000 M20 Command Cars were made by the USA in World War Two and they were so popular that some are still in service today with military and para-military and police forces.  While lightly armored the vehicle was fast and given the nature of the reconnaissance mission, speed was more important than armor or weaponry.  US troops used them until after the Korean War.  Many by that time were serving in the Military Police Corps and often had special paint schemes for high recognition in urban environments in Europe.
