This 1.25″ diameter barrel nosepiece has a 28mm insertion length and features Baader’s proprietary Safety Kerfs to prevent slippage.

The eyepiece side has T-2 male threads, with the telescope side having the standard 1¼” outer diameter barrel (nosepiece) and has internal filter M28.5 filter threads for all 1¼” filters. The overall optical path length is 1.5 mm.

Modern cameras are usually characterised by extremely short optical heights, in order to be able to be mounted on various telescope constructions. The old T-2 standard with 5 mm thread depth is a hindrance to this. To take care of this new development, all new Baader T-2 and M48 parts are delivered with the new 3 mm standard.

This nosepiece can be used with accessories that have a female T-2 thread. An example is shown below with the nosepiece attached to the Baader Flip Mirror II (not included).
