I am not 100% sure if this is a 1970 or 1972 copy of this relatively scarce hardcover on Christo's early work, but my interest in buying, and selling, it is for the content, and I am pricing it low either way. I happened to come across this, and was pretty struck by the rawness and potency of the early wrapped object sculptures, as well as very painterly installations of barrels in alleys, etc, all of which led into, but in many ways feel quite different than the larger scale works in the public realm for which he is most known, though we're also reminded of the very immediate activist ambitions of that work, and Bourdon's text provides lots of context and connections. Looking at this now, I found myself understanding its content, influences, and impact of this in new ways, and associations to work of diverse other artists abound.

11" x 11 5/8" x 1 1/4". Good condition, no dust jacket, light wear to the spine and one small bump to lover edge of front cover, pretty minor. Interior clean and in very good condition. 321 pp. 84 color, 236 bw plates. Includes a biographical outline and selected bibliography. Apologies for the crummy photos, but it is pretty large and heavy!
