Product Description

Narrow decorative wall panels or tiles made in the lippan style, with tiny mirrors arranged in intricate geometric patterns. Available individually or can be made to order in the size and quantaties required

Lippan is a traditional style of wall decoration from Kutch in Gujarat, and uses small pieces of mirrors and clay to create striking geometric patterns on the interior walls of homes. Lippan rarely uses paint, relying more on elaborate mirror-work and patterns to offset the colour of the raw clay.

This ancient art form is said to be close to 800 years old, and was developed by the Kumbhar community of potters in Sindh. Today, the women of the Kumbhar, Rabari, Mutwa, and Marwada communities in Kutch continue the lippan tradition, each with their own style.

Use these panels to accent your furniture, or to add a rustic-but-refined look to your walls.

Comes with a hook at the back to hang on walls.
