This vintage bow top whip has a silver cap and collar
Both have enginr turned decoration, The collar has a blank oval cartouche which could be engraved with initials.
The collar and cap are stamped "L.S", the silversmith's stamp.
The handle or grip is covered in braided cream coloured balleen or whalebone.
The slim shaft or stock is made of a single length of black whalebone or balleen.
It has a bow top and a braided cream coloured thong.
