I purchased this poster at Brimfield last summer and sat on it, thinking with some digging I'd find another copy of it out there for reference, but now I've done some digging and have not! I was also reminded of it in the wake of Philip Glass withdrawing the world premiere of his Symphony No. 15 "Lincoln"--which addresses democracy and warns against tyranny--from the Kennedy Center in protest: "the values of the Kennedy Center today are in direct conflict with the message of the Symphony." (Ears have wings and the microphone takes flight!) This poster was produced for a Philip Glass Ensemble concert to benefit WXPN-FM, Philadelphia, which took place at the Zellerbach Theatre Annenberg Center, U. Penn on Valentine's Day, 1982. Silver ink on black paper, with the lettering looking very much as if done by hand, but I have to think silkscreen.
20" x 16 1/8" framed. 16 x 10 1/4" sight. Framed, under glass, as found--clean white mat, inexpensive metal frame. It all reads very bright and crisp. WIth close looking, there appears some light creasing to the black paper at upper left corner, as detailed--falls away unless you are reallu looking for it, and flat under corner of mat. As noted above, silver ink on black paper, with the lettering looking very much as if done by hand, but I have to think silkscreen.
