Description
Undertunics are figuratively hard to confirm with archeology, but high-medieval sources show that shirts were worn under the upper wash. The Norse and Viking raiders liked to wear there shirts close to the body while the slaves were dressed in baggy vestments to show their lower status. It was important for the people of medieval Scandinavia that one could see all the layers of clothing when the complete set was worn. The fine fabric made the wearing of the over tunic a lot more conformable and in the summer it's a good alternative to wool in LARP and reenactment.
