They bolt to existing factory rocker panel points — no drilling. If your truck has damage at the mounting points, you may need to repair or reinforce those areas first.

Will the silver powder coat need touch-ups, or can I clear-coat over it?

The finish is ready to install as-is and should hold up well outdoors. If you want extra protection or a different appearance, light scuffing with fine grit and a clear coat over the silver will bond cleanly.
